[ How we engage ]

One pass around the loop.
Then the choice to run again.

Every engagement starts with a same-day read of your own closed deals, at a fixed fee credited forward in full. Every step, and what each one costs.

This page is the path, drawn once, top to bottom: three reads to start from, each run on your deals and priced; one pass around the loop with your pricing live in LevelSetter at the end of it; and a subscription that runs the loop again when you decide it has earned its place.

A pricing engagement used to open with a proposal and a quarter of interviews before anyone saw a number. It opens with your closed deals loaded into LevelSetter and read against decades of deal patterns: the pricing architecture you are actually running, where realized price leaks, and what to fix first. Same day, for a fixed fee you know before you start, and that fee counts toward the pass if you continue.

Every step on this page says what it costs and what it buys you, so the decision to take the next one is yours, with the numbers in front of you.

Same day
From two exports
to a verdict.
The read runs the day your price list and your closed deals land in LevelSetter, and we walk you through it in one session.
In full
The fee counts
toward the pass.
We charge for the read’s work once. Its full fee applies to the pass, and the pass applies to the subscription.
One pass
Define, Deploy, Defend.
Then your call.
The pass ends with your pricing live in LevelSetter and the first renewal cycle defended. The subscription runs the loop again when you say so.
The shape of it

One pass around the loop is the engagement. It starts from what your read found, runs Define, Deploy, Defend once, and ends with your pricing live in LevelSetter and the first renewal cycle defended. The subscription is that same loop, run again at the pace you ship new capabilities.

Every engagement starts with a read, and the fee for the read counts toward the pass. At each step you decide whether the next one has earned its place.

Pick the read that matches
where you are.

Each read runs on your closed deals and ends in a verdict and the priorities it points to. Pick the one that matches where you stand. The results live in your LevelSetter account, and we walk you through them in one session. The read is yours to keep: take the outputs and go, or put the fee toward the pass.

Every read starts from two exports: your price list and your deals, won and lost, as they are.

01.A

Pricing Ground Truth

“We think we are leaving money on the table and we do not know where.”

You get what you really charge against the pricebook, where realized price leaks, and the pricing architecture you run today. Same day.

01.B

Second Opinion

“We already drafted a model and want it checked before we commit.”

You add the drafted model, or the recommendations as written. You get a verdict on the value metric, the editions and the price surface, with ranked fixes and a direction for each, and the draft replayed against your deals. Verdict early; replay same day.

01.C

Pre-Shock Read

“The change is decided and ships this quarter. Who gets hurt?”

You add the decided repackaging, price change or metric swap. You get line-item impact across your installed base: who pays more, who pays less, by how much, and the transition map by Customer Group. Same day.

Each fee is credited forward in full: the price of your read counts toward the pass if you continue.

Add the market or the customer

Add the market: two or more competitors read beside your own deals.

Add the customer: structured conversations with your customers on value, run by our team.

Each is one price, quoted with the read.

Not sure which read fits? Describe where your pricing stands and a pricing expert replies with the read that matches, or tells you none of the three does yet.

The pass

The pass runs the loop once
through Define, Deploy, Defend.

The pass runs the loop once: define the pricing architecture from what your read found, deploy it live in LevelSetter, and defend it through the first renewal cycle. Each of its six stages leaves its work product in your LevelSetter account, exportable as CSV and kept current as your deals arrive.

A fixed fee by scope, under a three-month statement of work. We deploy the LevelSetter API during the pass, and we support it through the rest of year one.

02.A

Assessment

Where your pricing stands today. The findings on licensing, packaging and pricing from your closed deals, and the discount analysis: where discounting concentrates by rep, segment and deal size.

02.B

Competitive intelligence

The competitor read. A profile per named competitor: value metrics, editions and street prices where they can be found, plus the public bids and price lists gathered along the way, sourced inside a published code of conduct.

02.C

Licensing

The value metric, scored and ranked. Candidate metrics scored on the dimensions that decide whether one performs in practice, simulated against your usage data, with the case for and against each and why the strongest wins.

02.D

Packaging

The recommended packaging. Editions for every in-scope product with the Customer Groups underneath them, the SKUs that retire, and the value-driver scoring that got there.

02.E

Pricing

The pricebook, and every deal repriced. Price points and the pricing rules your reps quote inside, tested against twelve months of your deals and built in LevelSetter, so list and net are computed and every in-scope deal is repriced. The customer impact analysis and the financial simulations are calculated live from your deals the moment you open them.

02.F

Refinement

The record, kept current. Guidance for rolling out to your installed base, the 90‑day measurement window through the first renewal cycle, and a standing review of how the model performs against what the market did.

Then

If it earns it, the subscription
runs the loop again.

The subscription runs the loop again at the pace you ship new capabilities, on the term you choose, sized to your deal volume.

Between passes LevelSetter stays running, the pricebook stays live where your reps quote, and the reasoning behind every change stays with you.

Fit

Who this is for,
and the case we scope on a call.

03.A

Right fit when

  • You hold a year or more of closed deals, or a drafted model, or a change already in flight. One of the three reads matches each of those.
  • You sell software, or a product that software runs. The pattern library we read your deals against was built on B2B software deals.
  • You want pricing to keep pace with what you ship. A read alone is the lead-in; the subscription is the standing engagement.
03.B

Scoped on a call

  • Nothing has sold yet under the pricing you are about to set, so there are no closed deals to read. A launch read exists for that case. Tell us where you stand through Talk to an expert, and our team will scope it with you on a short call.

Frequently asked questions

Same day is measured from intake-complete: your closed deals and price list have arrived and LevelSetter reads them, plus the decided architecture for a Pre-Shock Read. The read runs that day. If a file arrives in a shape LevelSetter cannot read, we tell you the same day, and the clock starts when the corrected file lands.
The read is the first step of the pass, and everything it loads and finds counts toward the pass, so we charge for that work once. The full fee of your read applies to the pass, and the pass in turn counts toward the subscription. If you stop after the read, you keep what it produced and owe nothing further.
A recommendation worth acting on comes out of the full process: the customer conversations, the competitor read, the architecture simulated against your own deals, and the working sessions where your team weighs the result. A read runs on your closed deals alone, so it tells you what your pricing does today and which problems are worth your money first. We make recommendations inside the subscription, where that process runs.
Two exports from your sales system, as they are: your price list and your closed deals, won and lost, line items intact. Customers are coded, so no personal data travels. For the Second Opinion, add the drafted model, built in house, with AI or by another firm, or the recommendations as they exist. For the Pre-Shock Read, add the decided architecture. Our data intake guide lists the columns; most teams export both files in an afternoon.
No. Both run inside a read or the pass, at one price. The competitor read needs your closed deals loaded first, so it comes with Pricing Ground Truth or the Second Opinion, and customer research on value is read beside your deals for the same reason. You see one number for the bundle, credited forward in full like any read.

Start with your own numbers.

One read, same day, for a fixed fee. Or talk it through first.
