Licensing ModelPricing Strategy
A term in a software agreement under which the vendor undertakes that the customer's price will be at least as good as the price given to a defined set of others. Everything turns on how that set is defined and on what counts as the price: which customers are in the comparison, whether it is read on list or on realized price, what bundles or terms make two deals comparable, and how and when it is tested. The construct arrives most often in public sector, education and non-profit agreements and in large enterprise renewals, and it frequently rides alongside the deepest discount a vendor gives.
